Appel à nos lecteurs : qui veut s’asseoir et causer avec Bashar Assad de Syrie? Olmert d’Israël arrangera la rencontre

Commençons par la fin du commencement et extrayons d’une dépêche d’UPI reprise par Spacewar.com le 11 juillet quelques déclarations du Premier ministre israélien Elmut Olmert, parlant lors d’une interview à la chaîne télévisée de Dubaï al-Arabiya. La question devait être : “Êtes-vous prêt à causer avec le président syrien Bashar Assad ?”. Voici ce que nous en dit Olmert :

»Speaking in Hebrew, the Israeli prime minister said: “Bashar Assad, you know ... You know I am ready to hold direct negotiations with you and you also know that it's you who insists on speaking to the Americans. The American president says: ‘I don't want to stand between Bashar Assad and Ehud Olmert.’ If you want to talk, sit down and talk.

»“Bashar Assad, I'm ready to hold direct negotiations for peace with you. But you know, and you say this all the time, that you are only willing to hold talks through the United States.”

»The Israeli prime minister added: “Bashar Assad doesn't want to sit with me, he wants to sit with the Americans, but the Americans don't want to sit with him. I am willing to meet him if he's willing to meet me. If that happens, we will discuss peace, not war. I don't want to fight the Syrians.”»

Résumons : Bashar peut venir et s’asseoir. Les Américains ne sont pas contre qu’il s’assoit. Et puis ils peuvent parler (Bashar et Olmert). Mais pas avec les Américains. Bashar veut parler avec les Américains. Les Américains ne veulent pas parler avec Bashar mais ils veulent bien que Bashar parle avec Olmert. Olmert est prêt à parler même si les Américains ne sont pas là parce que les Américains veulent bien qu’il parle (lui Olmert mais pas Bashar, — ah si quand même, Bashar aussi). Mais Bashar ne veut pas parler, — ou bien, oui, peut-être, peut-être qu’il veut bien parler? D’abord, on s’assoit. C’est mieux pour parler, même si on ne veut pas parler. On pourrait en parler, non?

Ah oui, la dépêche commençait en nous rappelant que lundi on parlait d’une guerre entre Israël et la Syrie : «The week began with strong rumors of possible violence erupting between Syria and Israel sometime this summer.» Ca n’empêche pas de parler, non? Et puis, parler d’une guerre, c’est toujours parler, oui?

Et si on leur envoyait Sarko?
