La peur ne fait plus peur

Confirmant les enseignements qu’on peut tirer des plus récents sondages, dont celui de Zogby qu'on a déjà signalé, le commentateur du New York Times Frank Rich observe que les récentes manœuvres de l’administration pour exploiter électoralement le “complot” 8/10 de Londres sont un complet échec. Rich note très justement qu’il semble bien que l’ouragan Katrina, avec l’épouvantable comportement de l’administration, ait entamé ce tournant vers l’effondrement de la capacité d’influence du public par la machine virtualiste de GW & compagnie. C’était une hypothèse qu’on avait évoquée à l’époque. C’est effectivement sur la perspective qu’on peut évaluer l’évolution des sentiments profonds du public. Le public américain, régulièrement anesthésié par le système depuis les origines et renforcé dans cette anesthésie par la dose massive de virtualisme depuis 9/11, semble désormais ne plus répondre aux sollicitations de ses dirigeants. C’est la grossiéreté même du système et la médiocrité de ses acteurs qui sont en cause.

Le cas 8/10 avait semblé une bonne occasion. Le sytème a mis toute la gomme, comme d’habitude sans même s’en dissimuler. Ces pauvres gens pourraient bien y laisser leur culotte (peut-être aux élections de novembre), sur fond de souvenir de Katrina dont on va fêter le premier anniversaire.
