Rassurez-vous : le “corrupteur” de Galloway vend des armes US à l’Irak

Il ne faut jamais craindre la complication du monde américanisé et ses ironies sans nombre. En voici une, de taille, révélée par The Independent aujourd’hui: l’homme qui, prétendument, selon les sénateurs néo-maccarthystes qui ont entendu Galloway le 16 mai, a corrompu Galloway pour le compte de Saddam, est pour l’instant occupé à des ventes d’armes américaines à l’Irak. (On parle, rassurons-nous, de l’“Irak démocratique” débarrassé de l’engeance saddamesque.) La société du “corrupteur” a confirmé la chose.

» It has now emerged that a firm run by Mr Zureikat, 51, and other members of his family, has the exclusive rights to sell highly sensitive military encryption technologies made by a US firm in Iraq. Their company, Middle East Advanced Semi-conductors, was awarded the contract in January 2004 by the US firm Transcrypt to sell its specialised chips to the Iraqi military, police and government. The same chips are heavily used by the US army, other major US federal agencies and other secret military clients in the Middle East.

Galloway a fait dire qu’il était plutôt satisfait de ces nouvelles précisions sur son soi-disant “corrupteur”. Le bureau du sénateur Coleman, qui mène l’enquête sur Galloway, a fait dire que ces nouvelles précisions étaient “irrelevant” (comprendre : sans intérêt puisqu’elles ne collent pas avec le scénario).
