Ne négligeons pas la force de frappe des bombardiers stratégiques US: les B1 (“up to 24 GBU-31 JDAM GPS guided bombs”) , B2 (“can cover the entire world with just one refueling”), ...
Ni celles des missiles “Tomahawk” tirés par la marine. Peu d’infos sur leur nombre et disponibilité.
Ne pas négliger non plus l’attaque selon moi initiale de 100 F-16i Israéliens, qui auront sans doute droit cette fois au code “Friend or Foe”, contrairement à ce qui s’est passé pendant la guerre du Golfe. Il pourraient passer au dessus de la Jordanie sans problèmes…voir la carte de la dernière visite de Condi au Moyen-Orient.
Une fois Israël frappé par des missiles Iraniens “Shabab-3” (militairement dérisoires sans charge nucléaire), Bush aura tout le soutient qu’il veut. Le Congrès le suppliera d’attaquer l’Iran.

pearl harbour in the gulf of iran
Part of the us fleetthere may well be a baite ala Pearl harbour to inflate a nationalist anti-iran support in the usa after the destruction by iran of some aging us-vessels.
And of course, to fuel some more credits in reinforcing the us navy.
The problem is now that the US citizen wants to get out of the middle east expensive butchery asap, is well aware of the trend toward attacking iran (polls) and of the Cheney-syndrome getting out of congress’s hands.
The south+exxon+lockmart+israeli’s lobby is losing its clout vs the newyork-californian different lobbies.
All that may well ends up in gamble both sides and in (vice-) president not finishing his-their mandate -s
